St Margaret’s Bay ‘Plein Air’ Art Festival 2012
Calling all painters, photographers, sculptors, sound artists, poets, writers, embroiderers, chalk artists or lucky recipients of a particularly good packet of Christmas crayons in search of a muse.
This October, The Coastguard is planning on hosting thefirst StMargaret’s Bay ‘Plein Air’ festival. We are inviting creatives of all ages, experiences and disciplines to use the amazing natural beauty of St Margaret’s Bay as the inspiration for a piece of work during the course of one week. The works would then be displayed over the October half term with possible creative workshops and events for children and adults alike.
During the ‘inspiration’ week we will have web cameras for those who can’t make it down the hill and will also be accepting work inspired by the Bay not only from the ‘other side’ but mid channel as well.
Proposed dates are:-
Inspiration week – Sunday October 21 to Sunday October 28th 2012
Display and event week – Tuesday 30th October to Monday 5th November 2012
We’re still in the planning stages of this new event and would welcome any input from interested individuals or groups. If you would like to get involved please contact us on thecoastguard@talk21.com.
