John’s of Walmer

John’s has been an established butcher in Walmer for twenty years, and for ten of those years they have been supplying The Coastguard. Until recently they were the official butcher to the Queen Mother. Mavis, Graham and Martyn (pictured left) source all of their meat from local Kentish farms. Their specialities are traditional, homemade sausages and hung beef.

Jenkins & Son

With their own boats in Ramsgate, Steve and Darren Jenkins (pictured right) have been supplying Deal with freshly caught fish since 1961. They specialise in fish from the loca area, including cod, lobsters, bass, lemon sole, dressed crab and plaice.

At the winery you will find the Wine and Fine Food Store where you can taste and buy their range of award winning wines. They also stock the very best of English food and drink from local and regional suppliers.
The restaurant ‘Richard Phillips at Chapel Down’ serves a fantastic locally sourced menu in stunning contemporary surroundings.
To learn more about their wines you can join a guided tour of the vineyard and winery during the summer months or take a walk using one of the vineyard trails passing the beautiful herb garden.
